It is now 28 years old and sews like it did when new. I have had this machine serviced three times in all those years and not because anything needed repair, just to have it properly cleaned/oiled.
It probably has several million miles on it. Back then I made a new outfit for work every week. I knew it should have been serviced more than that as I used it constantly. At one time, it was my only machine for eight years and since I sewed constantly, I couldn't bear to be without it for any length of time. Now that I am older and wiser (LOL) and have five sewing/embroidery machines including this one, I'm more attentive to the machines getting serviced on a regular basis. This machine aside from having sentimental value since DH purchased it, is still my favorite for regular sewing. It makes a great single chain stitch by placing an attachment in the bobbin that my newer and much more expensive machines don't/can't do.
